I was doing about the only thing I do these days, which is sitting and waiting for a moose to move out of the brush when I noticed this lone aspen burning brightly with backlit sunlight. I waited, and about 15 minutes it looked like I’d hoped it look as the aspen was the only thing tall enough to receive the last rays of light leaving everything else in shadow.
