I drove up to this point the night before and camped at this spot in order to be here for the 6:30 wake up. Didn’t see another person for the entire 15 hours I was up there! Didn’t really see anything other than the Dusky Grouse that didn’t want to share this spot with me and gave me a fright! I sat on the hillside for about an hour as the first light hit Uncompahgre and Wetterhorn Peaks. Finally the sun came to warm me up, but my favorite photo was the first one I took before the sun rose.
