Whiteout
Crested Butte, Colorado
I usually don’t drive 160 miles round trip to Crested Butte for pizza, but sometimes cabin fever gets the best of me. When that happens, I make sure to bring the camera just in case there’s something to take a photo of along the way. This was the case on a trip one winter. I was headed home, but I didn’t want to go home so I took a random left and went down the road until it ended, which is where I found this barn. It had been snowing all day, but the snow, along with the wind had really picked up since leaving town, and it was a slightly worrying whiteout. The barn (not to mention the road) was almost completely obscured at times, which I thought was interesting. So the pizza trip became a photo trip just like I had planned all along.
