A Great Grey Owl! I’ve really wanted to see one of these guys for a really long time now, and when a friend found that out, we went for a hike to one of his spots! About a mile in, there was a sudden flash of wings and this guy landed about 20 yards from us. He perched there for about 15 minutes scanning the ground for rodents as the first rays of sun made it into his forest home. It was a completely owlsome experience! I watched him hunt for awhile before we set off to find where the other hoots in the forest were coming from...
