This is one of those sunsets where everything just came together perfectly! I started the day with a three hour drive to meet a friend. Then we took another 2 hour 8 mile drive up and down a mountain pass. After which she suggested we hike to this lake! Always a yes from me even though the light was terrible, and the clouds were not cooperating at all. We walked through the forest anyway, seeing an alarming amount of bear scat. Once at the lake, we waited for sunset. It did not look promising. Then the clouds broke and found a gap. The pond was incredibly still and the air completely silent creating a perfect mirror for a beautiful scene.
