Edge of the Forest

Even when going out the morning after fresh snow it’s not often I actually get to see who’s been making all the tracks I see. This time though, I spotted some tracks, slowed down, and found this coyote at the end of them! He was bounding through the snow that went up past his chest, but once he figured out I wasn’t a threat he slowed down, and was able to walk on top of the snow again. He took this last glance back at me before heading through the aspens to find a place to sit just at the edge of the forest.
