Christhmas Dunes

On Christmas Day I decided to take an impromptu trip to the Sand Dunes on the hopes I’d have them mostly to myself. I mostly did, and I heard more coyotes yapping than people. I climbed a few random dunes, and was planning a few more before the wind kicked up and blew me to New Mexico. Here’s the view from the top of one of the dunes just as the sun hit the sand for the first time that morning, and the clouds from the night’s snow storm began to lift, revealing the fresh blanket of snow on the mountains.
