San Juan Solstice 2026

The San Juan Solstice was this Saturday here in Lake City! Fifty miles of running and 12k feet of elevation gain in the mountains around town. The course takes the runners up and over the mountains, then once more, then another time for more fun before the downhill stretch back into town. I hitched a ride up to the Divide Aid Station where spent the day hiking along the Colorado Trail to meet the runners as they reached mile 28 or so. This is the section of trail that parallels the mountains above Lake San Cristobal and is just under/over 13,000 feet in elevation. Here is a link to a gallery of the photos I took!
Did you run the race? If so you probably will find yourself in here! This is every photo I took that day. There’s about 1500.
Hopefully you can find yourself! Feel free to use for personal use. If you’d like a full quality edited photo you can email me the file names and I’ll send it in time. Send me an email here. My Venmo is @michaelunderwoodphoto if you want to tip $5 or something, but you don’t have to pay to get the photo. You already paid the price by your run!
