About Michael

My name is Michael Underwood. I’m a professional nature photographer based in the small mountain town of Lake City, Colorado. Over the years, I have developed a deep appreciation, respect, and love for the natural world while traveling around and exploring the landscapes of the San Juan Mountains, Colorado Plateau, and Yellowstone Ecosystem.

My work celebrates nature's authentic beauty, captured as it appears in the wild, and I hope you enjoy these glimpses into the wilderness! If you wish to bring a piece of the mountains and deserts home, all photographs on this website are available for purchase in a variety of sizes and finishes, including metal, canvas, and traditional paper prints.
