My perfect Colorado autumn scene!

I was watching a cow moose graze by this pond for a bit just willing her to get in the water. I’d never seen a moose in this pond before, but I knew it’d be a great photo. Finally, she did! And I watched her for 15 minutes taking photos, as happy as I am capable of being. Then I heard the crunching of branches and out of those aspens appeared another cow plus calf and a big bull! They proceeded to hop in the pond and pose as the sun lit up the clouds over the La Garita mountains creating just about the most perfect scene I could ever imagine. They stayed for a long time into the twilight allowing me to take a few hundred photos before they were muscled out of the pond by some thirsty cows. A perfect fall night and a new favorite photo set of mine!
